UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 13 December 2006 and sets out the rights of persons with disabilities. The convention officially came into force on 3 April 2008, when Ecuador became the 20th country to ratify it.

Ethiopia - signed 30-3-2007
Kenya - ratified 19-5-2008
Morocco - ratified 8-4-2009 and the optional protocol
Rwanda - ratified 15/12/2008 and the optional protocol
Seychelles - ratified 2-10-09
Sudan - ratified 24-4-09 and the optional protocol
Uganda - ratified 25-9-08 and the optional protocol
United Republic of Tanzania - ratified 10-11-09 and the optional protocol
