Over 1,000 people have died and more than 600,000 people forced to flee their homes as a result of the post-election violence that broke out in early 2008. The crisis in Kenya has hit hard people across the country, with disabled people particularly suffering as a result of the situation.
In response to the situation LCD launched an assessment of disabled people sheltering within the IDP camps to understand the conditions they were facing and to develop plans to improve conditions.
