Campaigns
We campaign to change attitudes to disability and support disabled people around the East and North African region. Apart from our formal campaigns we continuously work with the media to raise the profile of disability issues. This includes regular articles in the Kenyan Nation and Standard newspapers and a weekly radio slot on UN Radio in Juba, Sudan. We are currently focusing on highlighting the problems faced by disabled people in the post-election violence in Kenya.
Young Voices
The Young Voices project works with disabled young people to develop their understanding of human rights and advocacy and increase their capacity for active citizenship.
UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
We are campaigning across the region to ensure that the UN Convention is adopted as law in all the countries that we work in.
Disability and HIV/AIDS
A unifying umbrella to develop inclusive national HIV and AIDS policies and programmes and promote equal access for persons with disabilities to information and services on HIV and AIDS
