Morocco
Morocco is ranked 123rd out of 177 countries on the United Nations Human Development Index. A high incidence of disabling disease, especially polio, in the country has resulted in a correspondingly high number of disabled people.
The latest statistics from the government of Morocco estimate the number of people with disabilities at 2.2 million, or 7% of the population. However, other estimates have put this figure as high as 3 million.
The Moroccan constitution does not specifically make provision for the rights of disabled people, either mandating for access to buildings or concerning equal opportunities and discrimination.
