Inclusive Education Continues in Kenya
Leonard Cheshire Disability’s inclusive education programme was first developed in the Nyanza Province of Kenya and children with disabilities there will continue to be welcomed into mainstream schools. Now supported by the Niarchos Foundation, a three-year project was launched on 2 August and attended by a wide range of government and civil society stakeholders.
An in-service inclusive education training manual for teachers is also being developed with Maseno University for use from September. The manual will support teachers in this project and others throughout the country.
