Sudan

Sudan is currently undergoing reconstruction after years of internal conflict which has left infrastructure and systems for basic service provision, including schools, destroyed. It is ranked 141 out of 177 countries in the Human Development Index (HDI). Over a quarter of the population is not predicted to live past the age of 40, with average life expectancy at just 56.5 years.

Legislation in Sudan does not specifically prohibit discrimination against disabled people, but does say that "the state shall guarantee to persons with special needs the enjoyment of all the rights and freedoms set out in the constitution, access to suitable education, employment and full participation in society."
